Crushworthy Hand Printed Homegoods by Home Sweet

Snazzy Hand Sewn Bike Messenger Bags by Vaya Bags

Crafty Bastards Arts & Crafts Fair in DC is coming up this weekend!
On Saturday, some of the greatest crafters in the country will descend on Adams Morgan for a day of shopping, food, entertainment, prizes, music & crafty fellowship.
It is an event not to be missed, and well worth the short trip from Baltimore!

Many of our own Mafiosos (Spaghetti Kiss, Pink Kiss Pottery, Sweet Pepita, Red Prairie Press, Cotton Monster, Carlybird Weaves...) will be there representing Baltimore along with some veteran CCCM show vendors like The Broken Plate Pendant Co, Biggs & Featherbelle, Dandelion Blu, Fisticuffs Leather, Tugboat Printshop, Tasha McKelvey, The Candy Thief and more! To check out the awesome vendor lineup, you can CLICK HERE!

Above are some personal favorites... but if I listed all of my favorites, most of the vendor page would be here. Truly & consistently my favorite show of the year!

The Mafia Seeks an Intern!

We at the Charm City Craft Mafia are seeking an ambitious student to join us as Mafia Intern! The two main responsibilities of this internship are to assist our members with studio work, and most importantly, to help us prepare for our winter 2010 craft show, Holiday Heap! The intern will work along side the Mafia communicating with vendor applicants, performing organizational tasks and marketing, contacting sponsors, as well as carrying out day-of-show tasks including setting up tables, decorating, assisting vendors, making food runs, etc. This internship is a wonderful opportunity for an artist who is interested in community building, hosting events, and the indie craft community. You must be motivated, flexible and fun. You will see the inner workings of the Mafia and what it takes to put on the best indie craft show in Baltimore! You will have the chance to work with a group of 13 zany and talented artists whose work includes painting, drawing, sculpture, weaving, bookmaking, ceramics and much more. This opportunity begins as soon as possible and can last through the semester and even beyond, if we find the right candidate. Additional tasks may include assistance with other art and craft shows, studio maintenance, etc.
The intern MUST be available to work the evening of December 3rd and ALL DAY December 4th, 2010. Please do not apply if you cannot make yourself available on both of those days. Otherwise, the schedule is fairly flexible. To apply, please send a cover letter and resume to carlygoss@yahoo.com.
Looking forward to getting crafty with you!
